Management Partners is actively seeking seasoned municipal public works professionals to assist local municipalities with short-term assignments and projects.

Our interim placement and project-related management services provide a network of qualified, vetted professionals to help cities, counties, and special districts with special projects and/or in serving as an interim while a vacancy is filled.

Public works professionals, including retirees, with a background serving as deputy and department directors in local governments are welcomed to apply. Although each assignment varies, public works professionals should have demonstrated expertise in the following areas:

  • Knowledge of public works operations, including construction, engineering, maintenance, administrative procedures.
  • Ability to plan, organize, schedule, coordinate and direct public works functions, including streets, solid waste, water and sewer utilities and engineering.
  • Knowledge of and experience in the application of management and supervisory principles and practices as applied to municipal government.
  • Knowledge of and experience in municipal procedures relating to finance, personnel, purchasing, office operations, risk management and public relations.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of engineering and construction, particularly as applied to municipal functions.
  • Ability to efficiently prepare and maintain thorough and accurate reports and records.

 

In addition, our consultants must be able to:

  • Competently prepare reports utilizing Microsoft Word.
  • Learn and utilize the Microsoft SharePoint file management software.
  • Utilize Zoom and Microsoft Teams to conduct online meetings.
  • Work collaboratively as a team member within Management Partners.
  • Learn and apply our professional practices as a firm.
