More information about the firm can be found at  As an analyst for the organization, the candidate will provide remote analytical and administrative support to consultants working throughout the United States. 



Under general supervision, conducts complex analytical research; designs and administers surveys and other data-gathering tools; collaborates with Project Managers and project team members in the analysis and preparation of recommendations and implementation plans for clients, including written reports and visual presentations; participates in project planning oversight; supports strategic planning efforts; coordinates workload with Project Managers and analyst team; and performs related duties as assigned.


Supervision Received and Exercised

Receives general supervision from assigned supervisory or management staff. Principal Management Analyst may exercise direct supervision over analyst staff.


Class Characteristics

Management Analyst. This is the entry-level classification in the Management Analyst track. Initially under close supervision, incumbents learn and perform routine analytical work to support projects. As experience is gained, assignments become more varied, complex, and difficult; close supervision and frequent review of work lessen as an incumbent demonstrates skill to perform the work independently. Positions at this level usually perform most of the duties required of the positions at the senior management analyst level but are not expected to function at the same skill level and usually exercise less independent discretion and judgment in matters related to work processes.


Senior Management Analyst. This is the fully qualified journey-level classification in the Management Analyst Track. Positions at this level are distinguished from a management analyst by the performance of the full range of duties as assigned, working independently, and exercising judgement and initiative. Positions at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and fully aware of Management Partners procedures and policies. This class is distinguished from the principal management analyst in that the latter is a supervisory class and performs more complex work assigned to the series.


Principal Management Analyst. This is the full supervisory-level class in the management analyst series that exercises independent judgment on diverse management analysis and project management with accountability and ongoing decision-making responsibilities associated with the work. Incumbents are responsible for planning, organizing, supervising, reviewing, and evaluating the work of the analyst team and for providing analytical and programmatic support to project managers in a variety of areas. Performance of the work requires the use of independence, initiative, and discretion within established guidelines.


Typical Job Functions

Positions at the management analyst level may perform some of these duties and responsibilities in a learning capacity.

Under the direction of a project manager, typical assignments may include:

  • Gathering data from publicly available sources, as well as direct contact with clients
  • Designing and administering surveys and other data gathering tools
  • Conducting complex analytical research, including comparative analyses, best practice research, budget analysis and strategies, and service delivery studies
  • Collaborating with project team to prepare analysis, recommendations and implementation plans for clients, including written reports and visual presentations.

In addition, the senior management analyst:

  • Works independently on analytical assignments and produce reliable data and analysis
  • Shows attention to detail when doing data compilations and check your assumptions
  • Reliably meets established deadlines for analytical assignments
  • Understands the major components of a Management Partners’ project
  • Proactively ensures that analytical assignments are completed on time

In addition, the principal management analyst:

  • Supervises analyst team including project assignment oversight and training
  • Provides project management and oversight

Education and Experience

Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be: 

Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited college or university with major coursework in business or public administration, or a related field, with a master’s degree in public administration or related field preferred. Experience with local government is a plus. Must be energetic, adaptable, have good writing, analytical, and computer skills, and be willing to travel to serve clients and support projects.
